- Accurate machine output calibration for all photon and electron energies following the AAPM TG-51 protocol
- Complete commissioning report and beam data book
- Commissioning of machine data in the treatment planning system with thorough verification and end-to-end IMRT/VMAT testing
- Independent output verification using the OSLD service from IROC (an MD Anderson program)
HDR Brachytherapy Program
A unique, “worry-free”, and full-service program that provides all your needs for HDR delivery at a fraction of the cost of supporting your own program
For over 23 years, Photon Physics Services has provided mobile High Dose Rate Brachytherapy services to clinics and hospitals in the greater Los Angeles area. HDR is the standard of care for many types of cancer. This unique shared service allows centers to offer HDR treatments for a fraction of the cost of supporting your own program. We supply it all for you, including the HDR unit, applicators, treatment planning system, and most importantly, decades of experience.
We offer HDR treatments for the following cancers:
- Breast (Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation)
- Prostate
- Gynecological
- Lung
- Esophageal
- Skin
Annual Linear Accelerator Calibrations
Fast, accurate, and comprehensive annual calibration of linacs following TG-51 and TG-142 protocols to ensure safe usage of your treatment machine and precise results from your planning system
Our standard annual linac calibration includes, but is not limited to, the following items:
- Machine functionality, safety interlock, and integrity
- Mechanical readout accuracy for all gantry, collimator, and couch settings
- Isocenter verification for gantry, collimator, and table rotation
- Light field and radiation field congruence
- Photon/electron output factor versus field size for each beam energy
- Output constancy versus gantry angle, dose rate, and MU setting
- Transmission factor for all treatment accessories
- TG-51 photon & electron beam output calibrations
- Percent Depth Dose constancy and off-axis factor constancy for all photon and electron energies
- Baselines for daily and monthly output checks
- Machine imager QA for EPID and OBI
